{ANNOUNCEMENT} Adieu, AbsoluteMBLAQ (2009 — 2014)

Hi,

It has been very hard to put my thoughts into words. AbsoluteMBLAQ has gone on for more than 4 years.It was rough having to close down the forum some time ago. We have gone through many ups and downs, and the time has finally come for us to bid farewell. Through the years, we have gone from being a huge family to what it is now, mainly managed by only a handful of staff.

Friendships were built, bonds were made all over the world through ABM from our love for MBLAQ. As reluctant as we are, we all have to focus on our lives now and are unable to sustain ABM. We came to a unanimous decision to close ABM down. It was a tough decision, but it had to be made.

ABM was a huge part of my life over the past few years. I have been able to meet people from all over the world. I learnt so much and i did things i never thought i could have done being part of this team. ABM fam are a great bunch of people. Each and everyone from the past and now, made ABM what it is today. But as the time passes, our commitments and focus changed. Fandom had to take a backseat.

We are grateful for the support of all A+, our donators, our past and present staff. Special shout out to ABM’s founder Chong, our current admins, Holly and Wendy and lastly, Jenny, Afrah and Rafa for sticking it out with us and worked so hard to keep ABM going till this day.

Holly, ABM will not have gone on till today if not for you. Your hardwork and your speedy updates. You are what made ABM blog great till its very last days. ABM would have gone down long ago without you. I am absolutely grateful for your work on ABM. I, too, benefitted from your updates. And would be at a loss once ABM shuts down.

It breaks my heart to do this. It has been a blast being part of AbsoluteMBLAQ.

Hello, everyone. This is AbsoluteMBLAQ Admin, Holly (gowithssong/AbsoluteMBLAQ).

We have tried to put this off for as long as possible but with our busy schedules and constant struggle with motivation and efforts to try to stay ahead of the growing number of Twitter fanbases, we have decided that is it best to put AbsoluteMBLAQ to rest. Please believe us when we say that this was and still is a difficult decision. We tried to carry on as long we were able because MBLAQ deserves that much. Unfortunately, most of our staff have retired due to work and schooling and only two to three people were left to carry on.

It’s been about four years plus since AbsoluteMBLAQ was created, and we are grateful for our loyal followers that stayed with us through the many changes. To our newer followers, thank you for putting your faith in us up till now. I’m forever grateful and also that much apologetic for letting our followers down. AbsoluteMBLAQ broke 39k followers on Twitter a few days ago, and I could only look at it with a sorry heart. The closure is a bitter pill for me to swallow, and I’ll personally feel the sting long after it’s all over and done. Even so, I am very proud to have been a part of AbsoluteMBLAQ and of all the work we have done. Our staff devoted lots of time and effort into support projects for our five precious boys during birthdays, individual activities and made various donations in their name. It wasn’t always perfect, but we tried our very best to put out quality translations and quick updates.

I would like to take this time to personally thank Wendy, Saf, Jenny, Afrah and Rafa for sticking around and helping out when you guys could. Rafa, you were a great help to me in the latter days of ABM, and I may not have mentioned anything to you but know that I really appreciated your assistance. To my fellow Admin, Wendy, who was balancing school and work while trying to keep up with ABM duties, thank you.

If there are a considerable amount of questions that we feel need to be answered, I will compile them all and make one last post in order to address them.

Once again, I would like to thank the staff, current and retired, and all of you for the love and support you’ve given us. AbsoluteMBLAQ will always be supporting MBLAQ in our hearts (and wallets).

Hello my fellow friends, ABM supporters, and of course, A+ family,

This is Wendy (liliceprincess), your AbsoluteMBLAQ admin.

AbsoluteMBLAQ has gone a long way, through thick and thin. There has been lots of ups and downs, but I hope long-lasting friendships were made around the world because of MBLAQ. It breaks my heart to have to announce this after so many years of being a part of the ABM family. We have transitioned from a blog to a blog + forum to the forum shutting down and now it has finally come to the blog’s end. It is only realistic and reality that everyone has become busy. Nevertheless, we are all brought together to this website because of MBLAQ; our inner fans.

AbsoluteMBLAQ has gone a long way, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to experience and be a part of it. This closure is not something that we thought of suddenly, as it was discussed time and time again. It breaks each and every one of the staffs’ hearts as we came to this conclusion. Each postponement was due to our inner ABM pride and thought of “let’s just hold on.” However, the time restraints caught up with everyone as we had other focuses and priorities. I know everyone like myself is probably thinking this is the worse timing ever with MBLAQ’s comeback. We truly are apologetic as we never thought that the date we set forth months ago would have been such a timing.

I am thankful to everyone that I have met through this experience of managing a fansite with my many fellow admins, project managers, and staff. I had such a great opportunity to meet many people in person, get to interact with people, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. I’m thankful to ABM in many ways that cannot be explained in words. I got to see ABM grow, but also see myself grow as a person. I want to thank Holly, my co-admin and partner of ABM. I’m so grateful that you are there and able to keep such a strong front for ABM when I haven’t been around. You truly worked hard and I admire your dedication. To Saffy, one of my lifetime friendships through ABM, you’ve truly worked hard in taking so much time, effort and heart in making the projects and management so much greater than expectations every time with each success. To Rafa and Afrah, I’m so thankful for you being our additions to the family, you two truly helped so much when most of us haven’t had the drive to. To our founder, Chong, without you, we couldn’t have started ABM to where it was today. And of course, retired and current staff, I am thankful to you, ABM is not built in one day and not grown by one person, but by everyone’s contributions; everyone’s hard work, long hours of translation, long hours of subbing, and long hours of updating, etc. And not to forget our ABM subbers! You have done so much amazing work that we will never forget! Thank you so much for your efforts!

Last but not least, ABM would not have been where it is without the supporters. Thank you to all the supporters who have supported us for so long. We are where we are because of you. The readers, supporters, and fans are what makes and molds ABM. And of course, MBLAQ. We are thankful for all the long time fans who donated so much time and money to all the projects and charities that we have held. I’m truly sorry that everyone has to see ABM’s closure, it still continues to break my heart as it truly is something I hold close to heart. However, know that we really tried our best in holding on. We held onto AbsoluteMBLAQ for as long as we could with the pride of everyone’s support.

Though AbsoluteMBLAQ is closing, that definitely does not mean that we will stop being A+ / MBLAQ fans. We will continue to support MBLAQ in our own ways behind the shadows rather than updating.

I wanted to thank every single person who has been a part of AbsoluteMBLAQ. ABM only existed through the continous hard work and dedication from all the staffs and supportive fans throughout the years. To Wendy and Holly, thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication to this place despite your busy lives. You ladies really went beyond what I could’ve imagined possible. I don’t know how you guys did it, but I’m so grateful that you guys were. Afrah and Rafa, thank you too. To Saf, it was fun helping you with all the projects–I don’t think we would’ve had so many successful projects without your help. Thanks for being so persistent and letting me do the easy stuff. ^^ I’m so grateful to have met so many great friends on here and I hope it was the same experience for many of you.

Though ABM is saying goodbye, I’m hoping your friendships and fandom will last a lifetime. ^^
